Tampa, FL—September 4, 2003—The 2003 Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series saw Melissa Orlick-Zbierski of Woodstock, IL; Robert Kraut of Oconomowoc, WI; Katie Gardner of Westlake Village, CA; and Fred Bauer of Millbrae, CA, holding the end-of-summer lead in the standings in their respective divisions.

Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series East Conference – Junior Division
Melissa Orlick-Zbierski of Woodstock, IL, riding Intersat Floyd, took over the lead from Evan Coluccio of Middleburg, VA, in the junior division of the East Conference. The move was due, in part, to a win in the $10,000 Lamplight High Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic at Equifest II in Wayne, IL, on August 2.
Coluccio, aboard Romeo, dropped to third place in the Series standings behind Cody Baird of Greenwich, CT, and Orlandia. Baird moved up from seventh thanks to a win in the $8,000 Junior/Amateur-Owner class at the Silver Oak Equestrian Festival in Hampton Falls, NH, on August 16. Baird also took first place in the $25,000 Calvin Klein Show Jumping Derby at the prestigious Hampton Classic Horse Show in Bridgehampton, NY, on August 31.

Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series East Conference – Amateur-Owner Division
Robert Kraut of Oconomowoc, WI, riding Caviar, maintained his lead in the amateur-owner division standings in the East Conference, and Rebecca Astrom of Reddick, FL, continued in second with Jolien.
Joy Slater of Unionville, PA, aboard Shindig, took over the third spot with a win on August 3 at the Manchester & the Mountains Horse Show, part of the Vermont Summer Festival in East Dorset, VT.

Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series West Conference – Junior Division
Katie Gardner of Westlake Village, CA, aboard Ce Ce Capone, took over the top spot in the junior division of the West Conference from Randy Sherman of Pasadena, CA. Gardner moved up from third with the help of a win in the $5,000 Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic at the Showpark Summer Festival in Del Mar, CA, on August 23.
Katy Brandes of San Juan Capistrano, CA, riding Odessa, remained in second place in the Series standings ahead of last month’s leader Randy Sherman of Pasadena, CA, and Cuervo Nero, who dropped to third.

Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series West Conference – Amateur-Owner Division
In the West Conference’s amateur-owner division, Fred Bauer of Millbrae, CA, riding Marble Arch, moved up from second to take over the lead from Nicole LaMott of Laguna Hills, CA. LaMott and Laredo dropped to third.
Top eight finishes in each of the West Conference’s three Show Jumping Hall of Fame classes in August boosted Kandi Stewart of Leona Valley, CA, and Froccs, into second place.

It is designed to give amateur-owner and junior riders an opportunity to compete at higher levels and serves as a proving ground for many riders who aspire to someday represent the United States in international competition.
