Tampa, Fl -- February 17, 2000 --- The Show Jumping Hall of Fame is pleased to
announce that Explorer Nutrition & Fiber Group will sponsor the Show Jumping
Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series through a grant provided by the National
Horse Sports Foundation (NHSF). The Explorer BIOLAN/NHSF Show Jumping Hall
of Fame Jumper Classic Series has also expanded its 2000 schedule to now
include 44 events.
"The Show Jumping Hall of Fame is thrilled to welcome Explorer Nutrition &
Fiber Group and the National Horse Sports Foundation as sponsors of our
exciting Jumper Classic Series. Their sponsorship is a true testament of
their commitment to develop junior and amateur riders in the U.S.," said Show
Jumping Hall of Fame Chairman Gene Mische.
Henry L. Collins III, NHSF President, said that, "The National Horse Sports
Foundation and Explorer are happy to make this contribution to the Show
Jumping Hall of Fame in support of its Jumper Classic Series as a way of
furthering National Horse Sports Foundation mission to foster amateur
equestrian sports."
The National Horse Sports Foundation is a publicly supported charitable and
educational organization whose purposes include providing financial and
technical support for amateur equestrian programs for adults and children
including therapeutic riding and competitions for the disabled.
Explorer Nutrition & Fiber Group is dedicated to the management, marketing,
and investment in agricultural based products and companies which are
ecologically friendly, safe, innovative, effective, and which perform.
Explorer BIOLAN manufactures and produces palletized straw bedding products
for horses and small animals which is 100% natural, with no additives.
The Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series, a showcase of top level
junior and amateur-owner riders, serves as a proving ground for many riders
who aspire to someday represent the United States in international
competition. This prestigious series runs February through November and
includes classes at many major horse shows across the United States.
Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series classes are run under the
$25,000 Grand Prix specifications as described in the American Horse Shows
Association (AHSA) Rulebook and are open in some cases to junior and
amateur-owner riders, and in some cases to amateur-owner riders only.
Standings are kept in three conferences and end-of-year conference champions
receive special awards.
The Series opens at the Cosequin Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL
and concludes at the Los Angeles National Horse Show in Burbank, CA.
Conference champions are honored in special ceremonies at the National Horse
Show in Madison Square Garden (for East and Midwest Conference champions) and
at the Los Angeles National Horse Show (for the West Conference champion.)
"The Board of Directors of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame is pleased to be
able to expand our series to include more events this year," said Show
Jumping Hall of Fame President George Morris. "We feel that having more
classes conducted under Grand Prix specifications available to amateur-owner
and junior riders can only serve to upgrade the level of riding in this
country."
The focus of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame and Museum, Inc. is to encourage
broader interest and participation in the equestrian sport of show jumping,
as well as to educate the equestrian and non-equestrian alike by sharing the
sport's lore, fundamentals, history and greatest achievements.
