Tampa, Fl -- April 11, 2000 --- Ellen Talbert of Cedarburg, WI leads the East
Conference of the Explorer BIOLAN/NHSF Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper
Classic Series after the year's first five events. Talbert and her mount
Corde Corrado lead with 42 points.
Talbert and Corde Corrado started the series off by winning the first class
in the East at the Wellington Masters horse show during the Cosequin Winter
Equestrian Festival at the Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Club. They also had a
place 9th place finish at the Tommy Bahama Palm Beach Open, 5th at the Tampa
Bay Classic and 8th at the Tournament of Champions which moved them into the
number one spot.
Marilyn Little of Frederick, MD on Pico De Gallo is in second place with 39
points following a 6th place finish at the Tampa Bay Classic horse show.
Little is also tied for third place on Granenfeld with Mary Moricoli of
Wilmette, IL and Lisa with 35 points.
Three riders are tied for fifth place with 30 points- -Kate Levy of Katonah,
NY and Opus won the SJHF class at the Tampa Bay Classic; Robert Kraut of
Oconomowoc, WI and Cavier won the SJHF class at the Tournament of Champions
and Jamie Schmidt of Holland, PA, who rode her As Des Templiers to the win at
the Tommy Bahama Palm Beach Open.
The Explorer BIOLAN/NHSF Show Jumping Hall Fame Series has expanded to 44
shows for the 2000 season. The series, which runs February through November,
is divided into three geographical conferences: the East Conference hosting
20 shows, the Central Conference hosting 10 shows and the West Conference
hosting 14 shows. Conference point standings are calculated separately and
updated after all shows. At the end of the series, a championship is awarded
for each conference with East and Central Conference champions honored at the
National Horse Show in New York and the West Conference champion honored at
the Los Angeles National Horse Show in Burbank, CA.

The focus of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame and Museum, Inc. is to encourage
broader interest and participation in the equestrian sport of show jumping,
as well as to educate the equestrian and non-equestrian alike by sharing the
sport's lore, fundamentals, history and greatest achievements.
