This outlines the
program for the 2001 Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series
and the criteria under which classes in the 2001 Series are to be held.
Series standings will be kept in three Conferences: the East, the Midwest,
and the West.
As a participant in the Series, it is expected that you will comply with
the following requirements:
1. Classes will be open to Amateur-Owners only or to Amateur-Owners and
Juniors.
2. Only running martingales, used in the conventional manner, will be permitted.
Standing martingales draw reins, or restricting martingales are prohibited.
This must be printed in the prize list.
3. If the horse show does not allow poling or bamboo offsets, then that
policy will be in effect for this class. If the horse show does permit
poling, it will not be permitted within a three-hour period before the
start of the class and poling prior to that is permitted only within the
limits of Articles 806 and 314. During and before the class, if management
permits, a bamboo offset may be used in the schooling area designated by
management. Whether or not stabling is provided, all horses competing must
be on the grounds a minimum of three hours prior to the scheduled start
of the class and must remain on the grounds until they are done competing.
4. The course must include one double and one triple combination (or three
doubles).
5. Horses competing in the Grand Prix of a horse show hosting a Show Jumping
Hall of Fame class may not compete in the Show Jumping Hall of Fame class
at that horse show and this restriction must be printed in the prize list.
6. Horse Shows on the Series that restrict entries will be asked to allow
riders with more than one horse in contention for the Series Championship
to ride two horses in the class.
7. Entry fee may not exceed 3% of the prize money.
8. Prize money must be distributed as follows: 30% for 1st, 22% for 2nd,
13% for 3rd, 8% for 4th, 6% for 5th, 5% for 6th, 4% for 7th, 3% for 8th
and 9th, 2% for 10th, 11th and 12th place.
9. If a qualifying class is held, both classes must be run under the same
schooling and equipment rules.
10. Member events will be required to make a tax-deductible contribution
to the Show Jumping Hall of Fame (a 501(c)3 charity) of $20 per entry.
This donation is to be mailed to the Show Jumping Hall of Fame c/o the
address below within two weeks after your class is held.
11. The Show Jumping Hall of Fame class should be the featured Amateur-Owner
class or Junior/Amateur-Owner class at your horse show.
12. Each class in the Series should offer prize money of at least $5,000.
13. So that all riders have an equal and fair chance to qualify for year-end
awards, you must designate in your prize list that the class is a member
event of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series. You must
print in your prize list and program a notice that people can check current
standings and schedules for Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series
at
www.Ryegate.com or
at www.showjumpinghalloffame.net.
14. Within 24 hours after completing your Hall of Fame class, you must
FAX the following items to (508) 698-6811 and (717) 832-0778:
- a start list of the class
- full results for the class, including riders' hometowns
- a copy of the judges' cards
We will then compute Series standings and distribute them to the media.
15. You must refer to the class by its full name, including any sponsor
designations, in all press releases. Copies of releases should be forwarded
to Classic Communications, 38 Mechanic Street, Suite 101, Foxboro, MA 02035.
16. Public address announcements about the Show Jumping Hall of Fame, the
Series and its sponsors must be read during your horse show. We will provide
the text for these announcements.
17. Your horse show program must include one full page about the Show Jumping
Hall of Fame. For this purpose, we well send you an article and two advertisements
(a Show Jumping Hall of Fame ad and an ad for the Series sponsor); you
are asked to reprint any or all of these. You must mail to Classic Communications
two programs and two prize lists containing Show Jumping Hall of Fame class
information.
18. Before the class, we will provide you with current Series standings,
which must be posted and clearly visible during your event.
If you want to participate in this year's Show Jumping Hall of Fame
Jumper Classic Series, please signify your agreement with the Series requirements
given above by replying in writing no later than January 5, 2001. If we
do not hear from you by this date, we will assume that you do not want
to participate in this year's Series.
Please include with your reply the exact title and location of your horse
show, the specific date and prize money of your Series class, and the
correct contact name and shipping address for us to use in sending Show
Jumping Hall of Fame information to you at your horse show on the enclosed
Horse Show Agreement Form. Also be sure to include a correct phone and
fax number for faxing standings prior to your horse show. Send this information
